Stylin’ Co-ords

How I Style an Ankara Co-ord set.

Hello guys,

How’s it going? I hope we are having a good week? This post should have been up during the weekend but I wasn’t feeling myself hence the little delay. I’m glad I’m finally putting it up, I can’t afford to delay something I enjoy doing just because I wasn’t fully in the zone.

Anyways on some life lately gist, I’m finally done with another chapter of my life and now I’m ready to move on to the next.

If you’re an avid reader of my blog you’ll know that for the past 12 months I’ve been away from home in another part of the country carrying out a compulsory National Youth Service and now it’s all over and I can finally go home and start the Real Life Hustle.

Thanks to all those who sent me congratulatory messages. Your job offers (preferably media related) and monetary gifts are also very much welcome. I’m not kidding, so kindly come through good Samaritans.

Now on to the outfit post;

I paired my Ankara ruffle-off shoulder top together with my A-line skirt of the same print previously styled as separates here and here.

I decided to put a twist to it and style the pieces as coordinates (or co-ords as some prefer to say) as opposed to styling them as separates. I wasn’t sure how it was going to look but I love how it turned out, giving off the illusion of an off shoulder A-line dress.

Ankara Co-ords

I wore my nude pumps and my usual accessories (chain choker, large hoop earrings, wristwatch and single bracelet) because minimalist.

I took these pictures sometime last year while being a muse for my sister. I’ll do anything for blog pictures fam! Hence, the indoor shots (besides not every time snap outside).😝

So that’s it guys;

What’s your take on styling co-ords?

Do you think I nailed it?

Would you rather wear these pieces separately or as one piece?

Let me know your thoughts.

  1. It’s funny how i thought it was a dress at first. I think it’s dependent of how I’m feeling at a point that would determine whether to style a piece separately or together, but whichever way it’s definitely cool. Love how you styled yours

    1. Hahaha… That’s the point of the illusion 😉 . Yes! I also agree that one’s mood can determine how you style pieces like this. Thanks for stopping by Thonia ☺☺.

    1. Na real adult world ooo. I’m just trying not to think of the whole hustle wàhálà. Why can’t you wear the off shoulder? The cold – shoulder is a safer option tho. Thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment. I appreciate it 😀.
