The heat in Lagos, Nigeria has been torturous and Wilson’s Lemonade Juice helps me stay hydrated. I’m sharing all the details on the new bottle and design in this post.
Hi there,
Who missed me? I’m finally putting up this long overdue review but I promise it’s totally worth the wait. Let’s get to it shall we?
So, Wilson’s Lemonade Juice? What’s the hype?? Does it taste as good as it looks?
All these would be answered in this post. Sit back and Relax!
The first time I had a bottle of Wilson’s Lemonade was most likely in the year 2010 when the brand officially launched. I was in high school and although I can’t recall the event or circumstances I’m sure I had my first bottle at a school function.
I remember thinking what this drink in the square shaped bottle was and why I was yet to see it on the streets of Lagos.
Four years later, the one that got away came back into my life. It was in 2014 this time I was at the university and I had my second bottle of Wilson’s Lemonade Juice.
Ever since any opportunity to have a bottle of this goodness was highly welcomed with open arms.
So, when the brand sent me 3 packs (36 bottles) of their rebranded bottles, I knew I had to do more than an Instagram review. My audience definitely goes beyond Instagram and I want everyone to have a taste of the Lemonade proudly Made in Nigeria by Nigerians for everyone.

- Wilson’s Lemonade? I’ve never heard of them could you give me a brief?
We all know what Lemonade is right? No! Not Beyonce’s album, I mean the juice made from freshly squeezed lemons. Well, Wilson’s lemonade is pretty much the same except this one is packaged and sold in uniquely shaped bottles.
According to the brand “Our drinks are made with real fruits, NOT FROM CONCENTRATE. It also does not contain any artificial colouring, flavouring, additives or sweeteners”.
- How many variants and sizes are there?
Wilson’s Lemonade Juice is available in 2 variants – The Yellow and Pink Lemonade.
The original Lemonade (Yellow) is my favourite because it is well, YELLOW!
The Pink Lemonade pretty much has the same tangy taste as the yellow lemonade. The addition of Hibiscus tea (Zobo leaf) gives it more sweetness and of course that pink colour for those who crave something different.
These variants come in 4 bottle sizes – 150ml, 300ml, 500ml and 2litres.
- Is it 100% natural?
Well, can anything bottled be 100% organic? I don’t believe so, BUT the great thing about Wilson juice is that that the main ingredients are natural – Purified Water, Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice, Cane Sugar, Vitamin C, Hibiscus Tea & Benzoate.
I was curious about Benzoate and so I did a little research. Turns out it is used as a preservative and it is generally recognized as safe by the Food and Drug Administration in the United States.
READ MORE ABOUT BENZOATE HERE.
Word of advice: Lemonade cannot replace natural God-given water yet this is a healthier alternative compared to the carbonated drinks readily available in the market.
- What’s new then?
Well, the square bottle that had my heart is being replaced with a round shaped bottle.

This round shaped bottle at first glance resembles every other soft drink but a closer look reveals a ribbed design that gives it a good grip and of course Wilson’s Lemonade logo embedded in it.
I had a chat with a brand representative to inquire about this change. It was explained that the new bottles are more economical and easier to work with on the production line in the factories.
This makes a lot of sense to me, as I am aware that the higher the cost of production materials the higher the price of the product.
Wilson’s Juice Co. aims at making their products available to everyone irrespective of your economic and social status so this new development is really reasonable.
I’ll miss the square shaped bottle though!
- New Bottle? New Lemonade??
Not at all. The juice is still as tangy and sour as I can remember. The new bottle shape and design is the only difference.
Here’s what’s new with Wilson’s Lemonade Juice!
- Where can I get myself a bottle or more?
Unfortunately, Willson’s Lemonade juice is not being sold in every store or on the streets like other drinks. Yet, if you really want to try it out you can get a bottle in every Shoprite in Nigeria and from select distributors across the country.
- How much is it?
As mentioned earlier Wilson’s lemonade is available in different sizes so the prices vary. The 500ml bottle retails for โฆ200-โฆ250 depending on where you are purchasing while the 2litre bottle retails for โฆ750 thereabouts. I’m certain the 150ml and 300ml bottles would be sold at lower prices. It’s pretty affordable if you ask me and the options are great as well.
- โฆ stands for Naira which is the currency of Nigeria.
Other things I noticed on the new Wilson’s Lemonade Juice bottle.
The new bottle has a smaller label compared to the previous one that had a full label. This new label has quite a number of inscriptions which I find interesting as I’m one who is obsessed with words, slogans and writings generally.

As much as I love these inscriptions, I found them somewhat cluttered and distracting.
Hence, Editor’s note to the good people at Wilson’s Lemonade;
I love the hearty inscriptions on the new bottle yet it would be awesome if each bottle was limited to an inscription or two.
Each bottle could even have its own unique inscription so that people can look forward to being inspired each time they grab a bottle of Wilson’s Lemonade Juice.
Minus the cluttered label, new bottle shape and design; Wilson’s Lemonade is pretty much the same as always.
Now that we have figured out what’s new and all other juicy details it’s only right that you go get yourself a bottle of tangy yellow goodness today.
Share it with friends and family like I did, because sharing is indeed caring. Take it with every meal possible trust me it’s that good!

If no, why not?
I’ll love to read from you.
Until next time,

I love this Wilson juice and could take as much as 5 bottles in one day. I really love the extra attention they paid to making us know like we are taking natural juice plus if you’ve met their CEO you’d know that the people behind the brand are amazing people

I love this drink! Especially the yellow bottle but sadly, it can only be found at SPAR, here in Port Harcourt. I’ll miss the square shaped bottle though

I loooooveeeee it too! The brand is working on making it available everywhere. Yeah that square bottle was unique. The 150ml would still retain the square shape though from what was told. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment Chidinma ๐

I like this drink, lemme not use love yet. I’m in a love relationship with Coca-Cola and Sprite but I cheat on them once in a while with Wilson’s, lol. Love reading this review, at a point I was like ‘na drink she dey review o’ it’s full of sunshine like the drink. Great job. Oh and I like the pink lemonade better than the yellow. It tastes different.

Hahahaha! I appreciate your honesty. That’s just me ooo, I love being detailed. I suppose the Zobo leaf in the pink makes it difference though it tastes the same to me. Where do you get yours in Ibadan? For the benefit of others please. Thanks for reading. I appreciate your time.
