How’s it going?
I can’t stop apologizing for my abrupt absence. I had a pretty stressful week and as much as I wanted this post to be up earlier it just wasn’t happening. But I’m glad I’m finally getting to it.
So Styling a Little Black Dress?I remember sharing a flatlay of this outfit on the ‘gram and I asked the question “Where would you wear this to?”

A follower commented “Date night” and I couldn’t agree more.
Little black dresses or LBDs as they are fondly called, are essential in every woman’s wardrobe irrespective of their style choices or body type. This is because an LBD is quite versatile and can be worn on practically any occasion.
For this look, I have decided to go for a Date Night look. This look was shot sometime in January and I intended to post it in February because it’s supposedly the month of love but I just didn’t get around to do it.
It’s April and it’s rainy season in our part of the world Springtime time in some other places. So how do you stay warm and cozy on a night out with bae without bulking up in sweaters and coats? Well, here’s the solution…
I’ve paired a little black dress that I obviously thrifted wink wink with a shirtdress cum duster jacket. We’ll talk about the many ways to style this shirt dress in another post. This look gives you the option of staying warm without wearing heavy sweaters or a coat. You wouldn’t want to start perspiring on a date when the weather cools down. This shirt dress works really well as a jacket because it’s lightweight (read as 100% linen) and does the job of keeping you warm.
I also went ahead to pair this outfit with a vintage clutch purse courtesy of my Mom and my C. Label pumps that make me feel powerful whenever I’m wearing them.
I had already sold my Cobalt Blue Pumps so they came in handy. Jewellery and accessories were kept to the barest minimum as usual.
I for one believe that this look can work for any occasion you just need to switch accessories and footwear.
Switch the heels for sneakers and the clutch for a side purse and you’re ready to hit the movies or get some drinks with the girls.
So if you do not own a little black dress or two you should totally go get yourself one immediately.
