If I had a dollar for every time someone made a nice remark about my Mabeli Inspired Ankara Bucket Bag, I’ll totally have enough money to check some things off my current wishlist.
Hola amigos! It’s another weekend and also the last chapter of the year 2017. Let’s make the best of the rest of the year, Shall we?
The other day on Instagram (Follow me if you aren’t). I put up a fashion flatlay with my Ankara bucket bag and the reactions were amazing. Many showed interest in the bag and I decided to style it in person. Anything for the fans dem!
I’ll also be sharing quick details on the bag and the amazing brand behind it.
For this outfit of the day look (Yes! That’s what OOTD is), I was thinking casj (Go look this one up).
So, I paired my current favourite slogan tee with mom jeans, patent leather brogues and of course my Ankara bucket bag.
Accessories were kept minimal as usual and my baseball cap came in handy as I’ve refused to visit the hair salon.
Now let’s talk about the brand.
Mabeli Inspired is a Nigerian brand that creates ready to wear clothing pieces and handmade African inspired bags. I already had a tote bag from this brand so getting the bucket bag was a step further.
I reached out to the brand owner, explained what I wanted and within a week my order was delivered.
My bag was handcrafted from faux suede material and Ankara fabric. It features an adjustable shoulder strap, 2 inner pockets and a drawstring with tassel details. The tassels were the deal breaker for me as I have a tassel obsession.
Many Nigerians (Me inclusive!) are sometimes sceptical when it comes to buying #MadeinNigeria or handmade products. For some, they feel that the quality of these products wouldn’t be topnotch while others feel the prices are ridiculously expensive.

Well, we all are entitled to our opinions but for me, this purchase was totally worth it. The quality is great and it’s equally affordable even for a frugalista like me.
So, if you’ll like to be a Kool Keed like me, hit up the good people at Mabeli Inspired for your own Ankara bucket bag or any other type of bag you have in mind.
Also, If you think I’m being too hyped, here’s another review from a fellow style blogger.
For my non-Nigerian readers, you can easily shop handmade African inspired products here.
What’s your take on my outfit?
What are your sentiments towards handmade #MadeinNigeria goods?
I’ll love to hear from you.
